| Jinja is the second commercial centre
in Uganda, Africa. It was established in 1907. Jinja lies
in the south east of Uganda, 87 km north east of the capital,
Kampala. It is located on the shores of Lake Victoria,
near to the source of the White Nile river. The city is
the chief town of Jinja District, and is considered the
capital of the Kingdom of Busoga. Jinja was initially
the most industrialized town in Uganda with European and
Asian settlers who had boosted up the economy but with
the rise of some turbulent leaders like Amini, the town’s
economy collapsed with the dismissal of the foreign investors,
however the town is gradually resurrecting to its former
glory with the population increasing and so many suburban
mansions coming up, good infrastructure and now the town
provides some of the most popular and attractive tourist
activities.
